- Consider the discussion points (see below)
We want this to be a fun and pleasurable experience for everyone concerned, so make yourself a drink and settle in for an enjoyable evening. We look forward to seeing you on the night!
Please note: If you can’t watch the show then it’s not the end of the world. You can still enjoy the session and take part in the discussions.
Session Outline: Fairytale
The first EiA live session starts with a look at one of the most famous events in the Royal Family’s recent history, the fairytale wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana… but that is just the start. We will be looking back at the early 80s, the events, the music, fashion and technology that defined that era. We will then explore how tales and stories form such an important part of each culture’s evolution.
The British TV series The Crown is all about the British Royal family and we are going to discuss season 4, episode 3, titled ‘Fairytale’. The episode provides the lead-in to the session but we may also touch upon the following discussion points:
- Why do all cultures seem to love a good fairytale?
- What are some popular fairytales you know from your country?
- Do all fairytales end well?
- What do fairytales tell us about life?
- Do we need fairytales?
Your hosts will be Trevor Kelly and David Ritson. You’ll find them fun and friendly. The fact that they are colleagues and real-life friends will help create a relaxed and enjoyable environment to explore different topics using conversational English.
